"We were school boys together"
Description
In support of his friend Solomon Tierce’s application for a Civil War veteran’s pension based on illness and financial need, Thomas L. Brown gave a deposition explaining how he knew Solomon from their school years together in The Hills. Brown and Tierce served together in the 29th Connecticut Infancy Regiment, Colored Volunteers, in the Civil War. Brown also explained his own work as a peddler.
